Shift Pattern: Weekend nights
Purpose of the Role: To ensure conforming metallic, composite or tooling parts are inspected from machining stages, prior to release for final inspection.
Role Dimensions:
Supporting machine shops to provide comprehensive inspections of ‘first off’s’, ensuring right first time. Conduct geometrical inspections using any and all methods within McLaren Racing inspection capability, in order to deliver correct parts for final inspections.
Conduct the geometrical and final inspections of all required features of race car, sub components or tooling prior to release from inspection to their next operation.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
A fully indentured engineering background in precision engineering or similar industry
Experience working within a machine shop or within a first off inspection area is highly desirable.
Fully proficient metallics inspector across a fill spectrum of F1 products including proficiency in the listed equipment
Co-ordinate measurement machine (PC DIMIS)
Visual measurement machine
Contracer & surface finish
Handyscan
Manual inspection tools
Fully proficient composite inspector across a full spectrum of F1 products including proficiency in the listed equipment
MetroScan
Farm Arm & Scanner
Fully computer literate including experience using the following software
PCDIMIS online & offline
Dassault systems
VX elements
GOM inspect
Faro or Power Inspect
MS Office
Javelin ERP system
Full understanding of GD&T
A keen and able problem solver that is able to translate faults in quotative data and present in an understandable manner for machining department to rectify
